Bénédicte Boisseron is a scholar of French and Francophone Studies and Black Studies, known for her work on postcolonialism, diaspora, and animality. A professor at the University of Michigan, she is the author of Afro‑Dog: Blackness and the Animal Question. Bénédicte also developed Earth Song: an immersive outdoor installation, at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2024.
