Terrance Hayes is an American poet and MacArthur Fellow whose formally inventive work explores race, masculinity, and American culture. A National Book Award winner for Lighthead, he has published several acclaimed collections, including American Sonnets for My Past and Future Assassin, and is a Professor of English at New York University.
